Priorities

By mid November I had already bought and wrapped most of the Christmas presents for the family. On the other hand I hadn't bought any presents for people living further away, or any stamps with which to post them, or indeed returned a book that I'd borrowed in June. My priorities in the Christmas preparations were skewed if well meaning.

It can be the same in all aspects of life. Sitting wrapped in my duvet watching the F.E.A.S.T. conference I guilt tripped myself as to whether I should really have been there supporting Laura and all the others or turning the computer off and cooking dinner. Half way through Dr Thomas Insel's talk I KNEW that it didn't matter if I did neither (my husband was cooking the dinner, otherwise I would have at least have had to buy in ready-meals) what mattered was what I DID with the information we were getting.
